Clarity for financial and strategic decisions

A strategic advisor and fractional CFO working with business owners who need experienced thinking, not just more reports.

About Jeremy

Strategic advisor and fractional CFO

I am a strategic advisor and fractional CFO, working with business owners to bring clarity to financial and strategic decisions.

My background is not traditional accounting-led CFO work. Instead, I have spent much of my career focused on financial planning, strategy, and business performance — the areas that directly support growth and decision-making.

Experience

Multinational roots, SME focus

I began my career in a large multinational environment, working across the UK, North America, and Asia. In that setting, the CFO role was split into two. One side focused on reporting, compliance, and control. The other focused on planning, strategy, and business performance.

My experience has been firmly on the second side — financial planning and analysis, strategic and operational planning, business performance management, and supporting growth initiatives and M&A activity.

Why SMEs

Where good decisions move quickly

After many years in a large corporate environment, I chose to focus on smaller businesses. In SMEs, the impact of good decisions is immediate. There is less distance between strategy and execution.

Many businesses have access to accounting and reporting. Far fewer have access to experienced financial thinking that supports better decisions. That is where I focus.

How I Work

Adding a strategic layer

I work directly with business owners, leadership teams, and existing finance functions. My role is not to replace accounting or compliance — it is to add a strategic layer, helping businesses understand their financial position, evaluate options clearly, and make better decisions with confidence.

A Practical Approach

Useful, actionable, real-world

My approach is grounded in real-world experience, not theory. In many of my assignments, a key objective is to help the existing finance team develop CFO skills.

I focus on what is useful, what is actionable, and what will make a difference. Most businesses do not need more reports. They need clearer thinking.
